Frequently Asked Questions
At the beginning of every semester, we allow IU students to fill out an application to apply to become new members. You will be able to find this application on the front of our website when it is available. Next, we conduct interviews so that we can get to know you personally. After these, decisions will be sent out! Our organization is seeking students who will be dedicated, interested, and compassionate towards our goal of helping those with Alzheimer's.
No, we accept people of all majors and there is no GPA or class requirements. We are looking for people who are passionate about helping those with Alzheimer's and are able to dedicate the time it takes to be a committed member of this organization.
Yes! We love to see people reapply as it shows dedication and commitment.
Our members are required to volunteer at least once a week. Currently, this could be by either sending a pen pal letter to a resident at Jill's House, having a Zoom meeting with a resident at Traditions at North Willow, or meeting in person with a resident at BeeHive Homes. We also hold biweekly meetings as a whole organization. We will have three social events each semester and you are required to attend one of the three. We do things such as make gift baskets for our residents, play kahoots as a virtual option, or making crafts to send to our residents. Lastly, members can also join one of our three committees: graphic design and apparel, outreach, and social. These committees will also meet about once a month where they work on their respective projects.
